When you think of HVAC contractors and heating services, you probably think about installing new furnaces and fixing furnaces. While that is certainly the bulk of what they do, there are other services provided by these contractors as well. Here is just a sampling of the other services they provide, in case you were wondering what else they do, or you are trying to hire someone for the very first time to help with any of the following.
Industrial Heating
Industrial heating is not just the heating of factories and industrial plants for employee comfort. It also includes industrial heating for curing concrete, curing cement or ceramics, and even heat-curing meats. The contractors install coils in the walls of special heating rooms for specific industrial applications too. It is akin to building a giant oven, with the exception that these rooms can reach up to a thousand degrees or more, depending on the construction and the settings for the room.
Separate Heating Systems and Controls
Several apartment complexes, specifically those which use electrical heat instead of gas, have separate heating systems for different rooms in each apartment. You may see temperature control dials in the bathroom, bedrooms, and common areas of each apartment. Each control knob controls the heat flow for that room, and the heater that is connected to that control knob has its own ventilation shaft for heating just that room. That is a lot of ventilation shafts, heaters and control systems to install, all of which the HVAC contractors do when the apartment complexes are under construction.
Heating Maintenance for ALL Types of Heating Systems
HVAC contractors also provide heating maintenance for all types of heating systems. It does not matter if you use heating oil, natural gas, propane, water/steam, or electricity to heat your home or building. The contractors know how to do maintenance for all of the above, which means you never have to call different contractors for different systems.
Oven Repair
This may sound like an odd service, but HVAC contractors can help with your range oven. If the problem is just the heating coils and your oven does not heat up, the contractors can check and repair the heating coils. Heating coils are part of their everyday business with furnaces. They are able to recognize when the heating coils in the oven range are dead, and they can replace them for you. If you cannot get an appliance repair technician to look at the stove, ask a heating repair technician instead.
